Also want to mention that we will be getting the photo gallery from Ohio Bike Week started in the very near future but will more than likely be adding to it as we get through them. If interested in purchasing copies, or have commercial needs for the photos please don't hesitate to contact us.

Chrome Divas, Jager Girls and Rockers

Posted by Dave Mercer Digital Storm Photography On 1:42 AM 0 comments
Started the day finding the lovely Chrome Divas from Cincinatti checking into the same motel to start their weekend of fun at Ohio Bike week so I knew the day would be productive. Next I ventured to downtown Sandusky where vendors, bikers and everyone else was gathering for the day's activities.

While scouting out the activities I met DJ Dave who was representing HD Media whom introduced me to some of the band members his marketing group represents and pointed out that one of the band members of Saliva was nearby scarfing up some free stuff at the Jagermiester tent. While I do listen to Saliva and like a lot of their songs, I don't however know band members by name but here he is hamming it up for me along with one of the beautiful Jager girls. I told you the day was going to be productive.

She was too cute to have just one shot of and I had been admiring the photographic opportunity of this slick black El Camino sitting on the dock of the lake so I conned her in to giving me a few more shots. Not positive whom the car belongs to but someone said it was the owner of Roeder Harley here in Sandusky so if it is then even better and I hope he don't mind, shhhhh!

During the wait for Saliva's free concert to begin, the crowd was fired up with music and the performance of stunt riders StarBoyz. Only so many shots you can take of their performance of which you'll see more of in the upcoming gallery, before they kinda all start to look the same so I started getting a little creative and here are some results. Combine slow shutter speed and pan really fast makes for interesting results! They opened Saliva with a burnout front of stage which consumed the crowd in smoke and burnt tire dust which by the way makes a helluva mess of a white shirt and a bald head.

Nevertheless when you have this guy finally singing his lungs out right in front of you and this crowd at your back you have to be thankful for the opportunity to work such an event. Looking forward to keeping in touch with all the wonderful folks I've met and hoping they keep Digital Storm Photography in mind for future photographic opportunities!

Jimmy rocks the Broken Spoke

Posted by Dave Mercer Digital Storm Photography On 2:50 AM 0 comments

Jimmy VanZant rocked the Broken Spoke Saloon tonight as another one of the major attractions at Ohio Bike Week 2008. Due to the condition of the open field from previous night's rain Jimmy was moved indoors to the Broken Spoke and the place was packed to say the least.

I've got so many photos of so many great people and events I can hardly wait to get home to view them on something more than a laptop. For instance the knockout blonde is Kimmy Cruz whom was tending a drink booth and providing her own brand of entertainment. She is an aspiring photographer as well and is a veteran of all things bike related. Feel free to visit her website and let her know you found her here.

Once again still lots of photos to go through and attendees of the event stay tuned for a full fledged gallery once I'm back at the studio and proper editing equipment.

A few more from Ohio Bike Week 2008 with the lovely "Kill Thrill Jill" along with her daredevil husband Tyler Fyre. From sword swallowing to serpent show to a suspended escape from a tight jacket and more they keep the crowd watching the whole time. Continue to look for more from Digital Storm Photography's viewpoint of this event.

Ohio Bike Week

Posted by Dave Mercer Digital Storm Photography On 2:59 AM 0 comments

Made it up to Sandusky for some shooting at Ohio Bike Week. Travis Tritt was performing tonight so I was able to capture some shots of his concert along with some other activities. It's too late to elavorate much but stay tuned for more. Also since I'm doing this on the road with a laptop for the first time I'm not sure how these actually look so bare with me until I get some real post processing power.

Got the opportunity to meet and photograph one of our contestants for little miss Apple Festival Queen today which was a much needed break from editing little league photos. Miss Haley was quite the model and a true pleasure to work with. She has some amazing eyes and a pleasant demeanor. Hopefully we'll get to see more of her in the future.

Insecure Drama

Posted by Dave Mercer Digital Storm Photography On 11:14 PM 0 comments
I don't normally use this place to voice anything negative but I just couldn't help but to relate an episode that happened just a short while ago. While some photos were being downloaded from memory card and others being uploaded for ordering I decided to go to Kroger to pick up a couple of items. After I finish and was loading it into the jeep I notice a car had parked next to me and a passenger had their hand out of the sunroof with a cigarette and small kids in the backseat. Now being an ex smoker it's far from me to judge anyone but with all the education out here nowadays about the harm of second hand smoke it's a "oh their's a dumb ass" reaction when I see it. I finish loading up, take the cart back and proceed to get in the drivers side, fasten seat belt when I notice this guy do a second take on me so I asked him if needed something. At this time he confirms my previous assumption and rolls down his window and proceeds to tell me no he wasn't looking at me but that he caught me "checking out his woman" whom I assume was the person sitting in drivers seat. Remember it's 11PM at night and I guess I just drove to Krogers tonight to check out his woman in the dark from the other side of a vehicle with a guy sitting with her. As he sit there in his car with kids in backseat and "his woman" sitting on drivers sides he said he would get out and do me some harm but never did see his hand move for a door handle as I sent a few choice words his way as well. It just amazes me not only of the stupidity of his actions but that people subject their children to it. Needless to say only thing accomplished was showing what an ass he is but I'm sure the kids and the "woman" already knew that.

Sharing a couple of shots from the weekend and also a sample of one of the custom team mattes we make for the baseball teams.

These come in 8x10 ready to frame size and can be also be made vertically with a larger individual picture and smaller team photo.
