Family fun

This weekend was spent working with Tiffany, our Jackson senior rep, and Sunday with the Long family. Now if any of you reading this has ever had the opportunity to spend some time with Jeremy, Amy and the young ones then I'm sure you know what a delight they are. The kids were super awesome and quite entertaining to say the least. Little "K" was as cute as a button with a 3 going on 12 year old mentality who had us all laughing at times. "B" is a ladies man and simply needed little instruction for working the camera.

Now usually I don't post "outtakes" simply because it's not like you're wanting to process pictures that have little value for effort but I came across a few that I just can't help but smile at so I've color corrected and done minimal processing to post..................

"K" got frustrated at one point upon receiving posing instructions from dad and simply replied something to the effect of "you're not the picture boss dad, that's not what he meant". She was a riot!
Check out the eye roll on "B". Typical big brother!

And last but not least.......... now can you give your big brother a hug? I think that was code for headlock!
Ok enough of the funny stuff. Here's a sneak peek of some of the better ones. "K" is just a doll baby and check out "B" working the camera.

It was a pleasure working with all of you and the family shots are coming along so stay tuned!

A lot to cover

Ok, so we've been a little lax on blogging as of late and rather than bore you with excuses and such we'll just move forward with some of the recent highlights!

First off we'll mention a wonderful little shoot with one of the Jackson County Apple Festival Mini Queens, yes forgive the unofficial title here. This is little Emma and she was a treat to work with. She seem to like working the camera especially if you let her do the wonder woman pose or jump in the air. She wanted a fun shoot so fun it was.

Next we have Cody, a rockin Jackson senior whom along with his $1000+ electric guitar made easy work of getting some awesome action shots. Word on the street from other seniors is he can really play this thing so I'm sure Mom and Dad rest a little easier knowing that all that money isn't in vain!

In closing we want to mention that the deadline for getting things in before christmas is fast approaching so don't hesitate to contact us for that special gift! Photographs, custom designed cards and gifts would not only make one of the most cherished gifts to recieve but also a gift that would never be forgotten for years to come!

Breana, a Vinton County Rep

Posted by Dave Mercer Digital Storm Photography On 11:30 AM 0 comments
We finally got the opportunity to have a shoot with Breana whom will be representing Digital Storm Photography at Vinton County High School! Breana is a proud VCHS majorette who is also actively involved in the drama club and 4H so we're sure she'll get the chance to show her photos and answer any questions you may have. As mentioned before but worth mentioning again, our senior reps are supplied with some great offers to include free photos by simply booking with us and presenting your rep's card! Now for a few photos in case you've never had the opportunity to meet Breana..........

Also wanted to acknowledge a recent family get together to celebrate my grandfather's 91st b-day. It was great to be able to host the event and while he has his ailments it's really awesome he can still get out and around if even for a little while. I think he looks great photographically speaking as well and I'm hoping to get an enlarged print one day of this photo.

Little Heroes

Posted by Dave Mercer Digital Storm Photography On 1:51 PM 0 comments
They're several things to mention this week but wanted to separate each on their own so bear with me. One the big things I wanted to pass along was our recent acceptance to be a part of the Littlest Hero's Project which is an organization of volunteers and photographers trying to pay it forward by capturing special photos of children with debilitating illnesses or conditions. The idea was formed by an amazing 17 year old girl who has faced a number of challenges in her own life. I encourage you to check the website out and read her story! Also if you know of anyone with a situation like those described on the website you should encourage them to participate not only to get some captured memories of their little hero but to bring awareness for all those facing these challenges daily! Every child is special and we know it will be a pleasure to work with them! We've incorporated a clickable graphic for the organization to the right side of this blog so it can be easily accessed in the future. Anyone wishing to paticipate we ask that you work directly with the project first and complete the initial phase before contacting us directly. If you need help with this then feel free to contact us! Check out the video for a glimpse of those participating already.

Edit: I could really go on and on about this as I research more but I'll try to leave it at this.... check out the Give Back page of same organization. Anyone can volunteer for this great cause and we'd be more than happy to help you in this endeavor. Spread the word, donate, or simply let us know of any ideas you may have!
